That system is still out in the Pacific. Wait until about Thursday night before making any predictions. I'm hoping for just a cold rain.

I have heard that it may be more towards the coast or along I95 for the most part? That would be awesome because I could catch some trains running in the snow! I'm not getting my hopes up only to be disappointed again...

When forecasters say they don't know four days out, I tend to trust them more than one who confidently predicts a certain number of inches. This is a particularly complex setup that's changing by the minute, so as much as we'd like to gaze into a crystal snow globe and come up with an answer, it'll be at least a couple of days before they have more of a handle on the situation. That said, it's never too early to lay in a bottle of bourbon or two.

Supposed to drive out to Clayton from Chapel Hill on Saturday to pick up my new pup! So for once I'm actually hoping for the snow to hold-off. At least until the afternoon!

Four days is,way to far out. Two days is way too far out. Want an accurate prediction, you'll have about 30 minutes notice. Sorry, that's winter in the south.

Geez, if we get anything more than 3", what with the temperatures staying so low, we'll be home bound for at least a week. I love living here, it blows up all the rules I knew growing up in the North.

What are you talking about? I can tell you to the millimeter exactly how much snow we have at four days out...

Spoiler
0.0 [eg: I can tell you the score of the game before it even starts...]

Now, if you want a TRULY accurate prediction, check in on Sunday...

I'm guessing we get a couple inches but none of it sticks because the ground is too warm at this point.

Actually, if it stays cold, and there's no ice, it would be relatively easy to handle...Driving on snow, those of us from the north know how to do. It's the ice that is horrendous...

So for you old timers, is it possible for us to get snow without ice? The two winters I've had here, are always snow on ice...

If we initially get snow without ice it eventually turns to ice once we get the daytime warming/overnight freeze cycle going.
