Man you stayed to watch instead of going fishing. That's what I call will power. Good luck with this, I will go thru this as well if I don't find a home that already has a pool. I think it would be better with a new pool the way you like it. Again sorry for the sidetrack.

That's great news! I know there's a bunch of rain coming this afternoon. That won't effect anything, will it?

Don't know but they got done before the rain started. Will post pics tomorrow. I'm in LA on business and my wife has been on pool watch. Pics are great! But I have to resize them on my laptop at home. Flight leaves in 13 hours...excited to see the shell in person.

Day 10 photo below.
Today is day 13. Crews came by to remove concrete forms.
Next steps are plumbing, deck and bull nose brick.

Looks great!

What is that higher section of wall in the upper left corner of the Pic?

Good question, Gary. I was wondering if anyone would notice...

We designed the deck to have 2 raised levels on the back side of the pool. The first deck raise will be 9" high by about 18' long, and a second raise of another 9" will run an additional 10' wrapping around that corner you see, stepping down 2 steps to meet the main level near the deep end. In front of the raised decks, the pool wall/tile will rise to meet the levels. Very decorative, we think, based on the model photos we've seen our builder do.

Remember our decks are going to be concrete pavers.

Looking good MA, so they let the concrete set for 3 days then remove the frame?

@Jersey Man - yes, that's what they did. We didn't have any damage from all the rain, either. We thought we did when we noticed an odd hold near the drain but the crew explained this morning that it's a "weap hole" designed to allow possible high tide water table (remember, we're on canal) to enter the pool structure without pushing it up. Once they are ready to shoot the final pool surface, the plumbing will have a pump-out port there to continue to account for potential high water table, without damaging the pool shell. Very interesting, I thought.

Thanks, DD. My sales guy just left here; came to check on the progress. Will surely stay friends with this guy...such a great personality. He was the one who introduced us to the concept of raised decks and that's ultimately what sold us on Custom Pools by Precision. He told me that he has already gotten a sales lead off of my thread here on City-Data. A couple from Rhode Island, with a second home here, told him they read this thread and are having Dennis do a design for them.
