Most likely. I never knew what his name was, but I knew what he was. One of the ones who worked like h3ll while they were fishing, then would come to town and drink up every penny they'd earned. But there were enough like him that no one was ever embarrassed, it was just the way things were.

Ah, the good ol' days.

For those of you who are local and live in farming/ranching communities, here is an interesting link.
Check this link out. EWG || Farm Subsidy Database || Oklahoma

Click on your county, the click on 2006 top recipients. You would be surprised how much money farmers get subsidized from Uncle Sam.

On our side, it was pretty interesting to see some of the names, then click on the name to see ka-ching how much they received.

Wow Indiana gets twice as much in subsidies. Plus Indiana is 9 out of 50 verses 39 for Oklahoma.

I'm not sure what that scale means though

Thanks!

The scale means 9 out of the 50 people in Indiana cracked corn today.

Thank you one and all. In reading some of the other threads I notice that Okie bashing is still a favorite pasttime.
I was in IHOP once and the waitress! was complaining to one of her customers (an elderly couple) about how Oklahoma was nothing like California (gasp!) and how much she hated it here.
The entire restaurant started taking up donations for a bus ticket so she could go back home to the left coast.
If it was so great where they came from, why'd they ever leave?
