I have lived here only a few years, so I only know about Chief Ellis.

This link gives a list of some people buried at the cemeteries. Hope this helps.

I loved the comment about the sidewalks and curbs. I was raised in Wetumka and had to take my Driving License test in Holdenville (county seat). I remember having to parallel park on a street with no curbs. The instructor just told me to get six inches fromt he edge of the grass!

Those photos were taken in September (or before). Crepe Myrtles aren't blooming in Oklahoma in December Hazel. I just didn't want you to get your hopes up!

The crepe myrtles are very dependable and hardy. They bloom during the heat of summer when everything else is wilted. Nothing much ever seems to bother them. I think I will plant a few more of those next spring.

I dislike crepe myrtles, but in the fall I noticed a tree with berries and golden leaves, and I loved it. My friend said that it was her crepe myrtle. Now if i could have it like that all year around. I guess I am weird.

I have gotten to like the crepe myrtles better as time goes by. I think I like their toughness. I like the new darker colors they have.

I like the dark red, if I were to like any, but I also like the one that looks lilac. Someone gave me 10 crepe myrtles. I gave 4 away, and the other 6 died.

Okay, this flower/tree/bush? has been mentioned several times. Exactly what is crepe myrtle(s) and what do they look like?
