I understand how busy you can be Peggy. I am too right now. My BIL recovered, but he never really was the same after that. He and my sister divorced about 5 or 6 years later. I'm glad to hear they are expanding Holdenville lake. That was THE lake that we went to for fun in the summer. I remember the beaches on the (South?) side and there were areas that you could camp over there. We always heard stories when we were kids about Satanic cults holding rituals over there. You could be driving across the dam and see torches at night sometimes, in a single file. At least that's what I heard..

The lake is all filled up again, thank goodness, and people have been camping and having fun again on the beach side. We went in there for some reason and every campsite was taken on Labor Day.

LOL Peggy! I honestly don't recall street signs, but do remember Grandmother writing us letters. (a lost art in my opinion) Which is how I remember the address...if I remember correctly (and I've gotten older, sooooo) she lived close to a train track...seems like we'd hear the train close by. If I remember more I'll post it.

I think I know about where your Grandmother lived. I might go down and snap some photos next week when I have a day off. I have a day off today, but many chores.

Sorry it was off topic, I had to "unpost" my hooterville pics. I finally figured out how to use flickr, but it was 2 am.

Default More Hooterville pics

Goin to Ada, care to ride along?

As we drive thru Hold-me-ville,

This is the tag agency, (the small door to the far right of the bldg.it's front door is visible right above the trunk of the car on the far right) It has a bench inside, in case of a rush. I once worked at a DMV in California. And believe me, this is far better!

Headin out of town goin south, right by the lake. Them boys mowin are inmates. Good to see them working. It was hot that day. They do a good job. No rest for the wicked.

On the road, pass thru Atwood. This is the only store there.

Goin thru Allen now. Think Jimmy Carter's at the peanut place?

Back home to Hooterville. That ol' abandoned gas station makes a fine place to sell your cantalope crop. Looks like he's got some bizniss too! Ma will be might happy, I reckon.

This house is for sale, I should've checked on the price. Its a corner lot. Those pine trees keep the grass down on the east side.

Goin home now. This is the "horse lady" right next to the railroad tracks. She is always working horses. I like her. She is always friendly to us. She let us board our appaloosa when we had a barn fire.

Goin home now. Heading out of town now, on Witty Road. Here is a pic on how my dog sees life, her head hanging out the window. Those are big yellow paw prints on the road. They lead to the high school. Its football season for the Holdenville Wolverines, hope you liked the ride. Now git up and help me carry these groceries into the house!
