Lawton pretty much sucks. I am a native so I can say that. I worked at Goodyear in Lawton for 15 years. It is one of the few well paying jobs in Lawton that is not related to the military. There is very little culture and nightlife. I suppose Lawton is ok if you want to raise a family and stay home a lot. One excellent thing about Lawton is it's proximity to the Wichita Wildlife Refuge. A National Wildlife Refuge that is well worth seeing. Many people go no further than Mt. Scott, but there are 100's of acres of the refuge that are available for hiking, picknicking, etc..

Supposed to be close to Roosevelt (300+pop) - the nearest "larger" town is Hobart but I can't find any listings for realtors - any suggestions? Do you know if Hobart is the County Seat for Kiowa? I know that's not your county (Comanche) but you are the closest possible source of info I've found. Thank you for any help you can lend. Knightmare
Yes, Hobart is the county seat for Kiowa and I THINK I found the listing that you mentioned... I will send it to you via DM.

Do you know what happened to the restaurant Tea House? I used to go there for lunch while in Lawton, enjoyed their food immensely. Are they still in business? Maybe in a different location?

I am looking for anyone with the last name of Lodge; I have (had?) a 1/2 brother named Hugh Lee Lodge. All I know about him is he's in his late 70'-early 80's, he lived there forever. Then he divorced his wife, and moved away. I don't even know if he had children. I do know someone was trying to look me up from a Roland, Ok. Thanks

BTW, my son went to Ft. Sill for Basic.

There use to be a boot camp south of Lawton, but that was for troubled teens. I think the funding for it dried up.

The nearest Military style school is in Pryor Oklahoma, Thunderbird Youth Acadamy. Thunderbird Youth Academy | Oklahoma

Schools for Lawton are just the Public Schools and the Lawton Christian School Lawton Christian School Home

Hope that helps
