It was about a 30 - 40 minute drive, if I remember correctly... it wasn't too bad. The park itself is located just outside of Garrettsville.

Here's a link to thier homepage - Nelson Ledges Quarry Park

Yeah, it's right over the Trumbull Co. line in Portage County.

If the weather holds up I might just head out to Nelson on Saturday. I'll probably run back to Mill Creek or check out the River Walk on Thursday, maybe both. I tweaked the camera so it needs to be tested out!

Cort, do they allow dogs at River Walk? Someone has been itching to get out for the past 2 weeks. Now that her cone is gone & she's been given the clear, I need to wear down her rambunctious behavior!

We had a great time! I was impressed with the walk & Shana seems to have enjoyed it as well... she now has perma-grin...

I was also amazed by how quiet it is... I did not expect that at all! I'm sure we'll be regulars now, especially seeing how it wiped her out!!

Thank you for suggesting it, Cort!

I'm glad you enjoyed the River Walk, it is strangely quite down there.........it makes you forget where you are for a little while. I like seeing everything from the river on up.......backyards, houses, commercial properties....definitely a different view of Warren. Did you start from Packard Park or did you just stick to the River Walk itself? Were there many other people out and about? BTW, Shana is looking much better w/out the cone!

Yeah, I parked down behind Packard Park & worked my way up towards the entrance near Powerhouse as you described. I didn't see anyone until I made it to the ball fields down by the river, even then, there were just a few. It made it an enjoyable walk though, Shana as you know loves people so the fewer the better. It definitely does give you a different perspective on Warren. Like you said, it looks sooo much different from the river!

I'm still trying to get used to her without her lamp shade... I am so glad it's gone though... I think we all have a bruise or two from her nailing us with it!

I think the warmer it gets the more people you will see. It's definitely a good walk. I always usually see people at the tennis courts at Packard, rarely anyone on Mahoning and when it's really nice there will be a lot more walkers, but it probably depends on the time of day.

I bet Shana and you guys are feeling better with out that stupid cone! lol Hopefully the bruises will heal soon! Can't wait to see more pics from your adventures!
