Whenever someone tells me how expensive NYC is, I said it only depends on who.. If you're getting free stuff, this is the cheapest city to live on earth.

Name one thing that you can get for free in NYC that you can't get for free anywhere else in this country
I don't see how COL issues are exclusive to this city only.

It's not free. People are choosing not to pay.

Anything (seriously, this time) that you can get for free in NYC that you can't get for free anywhere else?

I'm afraid these threads are being made with not much effort put into them.

The NY Philharmonic Orchestra plays in the NYC parks during the summer.

No admission charge.

You will have to pay to hear them anywhere else.

Many more events at Lincoln Center, too many to list.

What debate? It’s expensive. What exactly is the discourse on? Sounds like a bunch of ego stroking to me

Captain save -a-handout. I’ll give you some homework.

Go study up on how much NYC spends on social welfare programs per capita versus any other city in the US.

Come back when you have the numbers and we can have an honest conversation.

50% of NYC residents who are eligible to pay income tax pay $0 in income taxes. Expensive for whom? Might it be as expensive as it is because 50% pay for the other 50%?

Other cities have their symphon/orchestra perform at city parks for free too.

What can you get for free in NYC that you can't get anywhere else? That is the question. So far, we have music concerts.
