You mean mandates put into place by the likes of California Governor Gavin Newsom and then Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti? Newsom mandated no inside dining yet was caught dining inside. Or maybe when Eric Garcetti was giving one of his daily updates telling everyone you have to mask. Yet was photographed at a pre-Super Bowl party without his mask. You don’t have to guess why people don’t trust their government leaders.
How about we do the right thing and stop worrying about what other people are doing? Just because a psychopathic killer is going around brutally killing people, it doesn’t mean I should go out and do the same thing!

350 million people in America. No way was the government going to be able get everyone to stay home, mask up and/or social distance for any amount of time.

I remember hearing on the radio a few years where a commentator was laughing about this because all people needed to do was to stay home and watch Netflix, and somehow that was too hard for people. He made a good point, I must say. I understand if what we needed to do was challenging, but it wasn’t. The directives given were very easy to follow. People just were plain stubborn about the whole thing.

Doesn’t matter the reason, it was never going to work. No way the entire population was going to stay home. Be it being stubborn, essential workers, people living in group homes, nursing homes, hospitals, people needing to get dialysis, people needing to get food, etc. You just can’t shut down the nation.

People don't like being told what to do

Yeah, our scumbag mayor told everybody the same thing, but there he was in Maryland, with his rich pals, hanging out without a mask, stuffing his piggie face.

No one can live like that, and it's stupid to "laugh" about it and assume that people can just "stay home and watch Netflix."

Some jobs can't be done from home.
I'm not boosted and don't wear mask if I have a choice (so not for 1.5 years) and I've still only gotten covid once in summer 2022 - from my parents who came home from vacation and must have caught it in the airport/airplane.
All that effort and Howard Stern got covid the same amount of times that I did.
The best thing to do imo is to eat healthy, try not to be obese and take Vitamin D, especially if you have high melanin (since we don't get enough sun in the winter to produce it naturally).
meh , it will likely always be with us , so wishing it away is silly .
people are not going to do anymore for not getting COLD-VID then they do for the common cold or flu
I don't know about that. We got all the vaccinations and boosters for Covid but don't bother with flu/cold stuff. Never had any of them anyway (since kids). We plan to continue the Covid boosters but not the others, since we never have.
