Hi,

We have 3 girls. One entering high school next year and two will be in middle school. We need to find a K-8 school and a 9-12 school, hopefully relatively close to each other. It can be co-ed or all girls. We prefer Catholic. Non-religious is fine too but as long as it’s not over 40K per year per child and is pretty grounded.

Thanks in advance.

What borough?

Manhattan? Queens? Brooklyn? Bronx? Staten Island?

Start nosing through these two sites then ask questions about specific schools.

https://catholicschoolsny.org

https://www.niche.com/k12/search/bes...ls/s/new-york/

For RC schools things generally run K-8 then 9-12.

Convent of the Sacred Heart

Marymount School of New York

Notre Dame School

St. Vincent Ferrer

These are all good, but not sure if tuition is in your price range.

Thanks! I was looking at the Notre Dame School which is in our price range. Yes, the younger two will be in grade 5 & 7. Oldest will be in grade 9. I’ll look at the sites you posted Appreciate it.

In Brooklyn, Xavarien would be considered the best long time legacy catholic school...meaning its been around for decades with a good rep. Based in Bayridge. Looks like they also now have a middle school, too.

Thank you. It looks really nice. :-)

Is there another school in Brooklyn which is close-ish for 5th grade? But it looks like Xavarien has a bus service which helps.

Check out St. Edmund in Brooklyn, which has adjacent schools and covers all grade levels similar to the old school parish schools of the past that were attached to a church: https://stedmundelem.org/
https://www.stedmundprep.org/

The neighborhood it is in: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homecrest,_Brooklyn and some more information: https://www.niche.com/k12/st-edmund-...l-brooklyn-ny/
https://www.niche.com/k12/st-edmund-...l-brooklyn-ny/

I thought about it due to having all of your children on essentially the same campus/in the same area.

Any Catholic school will be fine. Go to your local Catholic school. You meet local families and be involved in the school community.
