I read somewhere several years ago that some RE agents were selling Allentown, PA as a bedroom community for folks who work in NYC; is that even feasible these days?

Sounds to me as if such RE agents found some suckers. You've got to be kidding.

Since someone revived this old thread, I keep opening the original post from 2006 and laughing.

He's asking if it's "doable" (stupid word--"feasible" is just fine) to live in New Jersey and commute to New York. The OP really had no idea how many people do this every day or that people have been commuting to NYC from Jersey for...oh, over a hundred years???
