ETA: does the east coast have any year round schools? I put my son in one (west coast) to save on summertime child care expenses. They only got the month of July off. School started Aug 1st.
My Daughter Teaches at one in NC. If I could add that is grade school only, reason being Athletics and work schedules many students work .

They get 2 weeks for Christmas, 1 week for Thanksgiving, 1 week for Spring break, 2 days for St Patricks Day and the federal holidays off and June & July. That's it, no teacher conventions, no religious holidays, St Patricks is mainly because of the increased traffic and school buses trying to navigate.

Two weeks at Christmas and two days for St Patrick's day are religious no matter how it is spun. In NC with my Daughter it was something like 6wks in school one week off ,6wks off in the summer and all the regular Federal Holidays. No need for a spring break.

If you say so! It's called winter break, I reverted to the old Christmas break, in any case that's it.

Just as schools went back last week many had early dismissals through the week due to the heat.

Don’t worry, excess heat will be a thing of the past after those wind turbines are up and running.
