Went for the first time yesterday. I am surprised, it is actually just three long hallways on top of each other. The parking lots are terrible. No one knows where to go. And it was only $5 parking fee.
Yesterday did have a good turnout though. The food court, of course, being the most successful section. But many people walking around. But then again, the Jets, and Giants played their preseason game yesterday right next door, and Lionel Messi played Red Bulls Arena yesterday, and that too is close enough.
That probably explains the crowd. But it was not like totally crowded either. People need to hang out somewhere ACed while they wait for the games to start.
Yes, essentially it's similar to a conventional mall, but with the addition of over-the-top decor that could best be described as wretched excess. I may return there at some point, but it won't be very soon.
Reminds me of Tock's island dam. Create the largest impoundment in the northeast.
Warner Bros placed jungle habitat there and the playboy club opened in anticipation of hordes of visitors from NYC travelling westward for entertainment.
OOPS! another NJ daydream gone wrong.
Who comes up with this stuff????? I know, a wannabe Disney imagineer high on toxic fumes from NE NJ, related to some politician.

A "NJ daydream"? Nope!
The Tocks Island Dam project was envisioned by the US Army Corps of Engineers, following the massive floods (and considerable loss of life) in 1955, as a result of two large hurricanes that hit the area. I am very familiar with that area, and with the buy-out of much of the privately-owned land in order to build the dam and to flood that area. The project was later canceled as a result of very well-organized local protests.
