Obama had the house and Presidency and still nothing was done for funding of the tunnel. The Dems have accomplished nothing but resist, why do you think he said he's not going to fund it. However the President cannot fund the tunnel and infrastructure without your NJ Congressman writing it. If NJ had enough red congressman it could happen.

Obama's not in power now. Dem do not control congress. Republicans control congress. Trump promised beautiful infrastructure. Where is the infrastructure? They had plenty of time. All I see is pandering to Putin. Reagan would be turning in his grave.

As far as dems resisting:

You are uninformed or you need to change your sources from CNN to something more credible.

You clearly do not understand the purpose of Congress or for the matter of fact elected officials works. Your congressman works for you, every other congressman does not work for you. Congresses job is to represent you, the NJ Democratic congressmen are atrocious and have not been representing us if we receive some of the least funding in the state and do not get the projects we want.

Rodney Frelinghuysen was ok until he took a hard right. Stopped going to townhall meetings in last term. With DJT in power, I don't trust a republican senator to put him in check. THey have go to the way of the taliban on social issues such reproductive rights currently.

Still waiting on beautiful infrastructure.

I am going to put on a gas mask and vote for Menendez. Not because I like him that much, there isn't much that I "admire" about him. I am voting for him because in my opinion, current Republican party is on the wrong side of the most important issue to me. I find them wrong on Health Care, on tax cuts for the rich and corporations, on environment, on infrastructure, etc. And I know that Menendez will do his best to try to get funding for Gateway. I see these new tunnels as a huge issue for NJ. The state will suffer greatly from a failure of even one tunnel. And this will affect not just NJT customers but drivers as well who will most likely see unprecedented traffic on all highways even remotely close to Manhattan.

I don't know much about Hugin. But pharmaceutical industry has really screwed America with their unreasonable, predatory drug prices that are the highest in the world. I can't vote an executive of this horrible industry into a state wide office.

The stupid in this thread is why Menendez will be voted back in & NJ will continue to bleed $ to "red states". All while we've got ****holes like Booker's Newark, Trenton, Camden, New Brunswick...

NJ is run by democrats no matter the political affiliation of a sitting governor.

Nothing changes when the foundation/status quo is maintained.

Maintained by voters who keep these idiots in every office from BOEs to town councils to Trenton and all the way to DC.

And those who vote for them, and have for years and years and years, whine that they can't afford to live in/stay in NJ? Or that they need others to pay more so they can live better?

How's that voting for your democrat buddies been working for you?

You can't fix stupid.

I for one vote democratic usually, enjoy living in Nj can afford it, and don’t whine. I do wish for better transportation options but blame our last governor for killing the latest plan. I’m pretty smart and think all of the elected officials who I can and do vote for are generally pretty smart and well educated. Some elected officials are more self serving but I think the job attracts that type of candidate.

I both actively worked and made large contributions to vote out my last federal representative who was not very smart or sympathetic to the issues of most Nj residents. I know this because I met with him on several occasions to express my concerns on his voting record. FYI, my taxes went down this year partly because of lowered county tax. Some towns are run better than others and some towns have more problems than others.

I am disgusted by the amount of corruption but I don’t believe either party owns this problem.
Why aren’t you discussing your smart ideas with your elected officials? And what are your brilliant plans that could make Nj better? It’s fairly easy to get an appointment or to go to a town hall, fund raiser or community event. Heck, if you layout a proposals here at CD, I would even champion them with my electeds and maybe some other readers could also. We could start a grassroots campaign. I hope your not one of these people who just like to whine.
