Am I in the right area for Florence??? (Myrtle Beach: living, cost of living)

Hey all. I'm considering a move to the Florence area. Not sure if this is the right area I am in?? Anyhow, is this a family friendly area? Or, are there nearby surrounding areas that are a better choice? Keeping in mind I am also considering the cost of living. But, currently where I live, my kids can play outside and even walk a couple blocks over to a friends house. That's the type of area I am looking for. Or, even a rural setting would be great. Thanks for your input!!

Geographically, this is probably the closest sub-forum, but I don't recall seeing many Florence folks in here very often. You may be better off to post directly in the South Carolina forum, rather than in Myrtle Beach.

I wish I could help, but I don't know the Florence area at all. Don't know your job situation, but finding jobs is tough in much of SC. Unless you already have one lined up, it's wise to investigate job opportunities before taking the plunge.
