Here in Central NJ we have snow up to our butts. Is it snowing in Murrells Inlet this evening as predicted?

Current radar indicates that it is snowing along the beach, it may not be sticking just yet because the freeze line seems to be right on the ocean. It won't be "up to our butts" when it is done but we have about 3 inches in the Upstate of SC already. Of course, the good thing is that it will all be gone in a day or two down here. I lived in Chicago for 25 years so I know what "up to our butts" feels like.

Yes we drove home to Surfside Beach from 501 at about 8PM and it was snowing hard. Plus its a very wet snow so if it drops more in temps it will freeze. It was 32 on our way home. It looks beautiful on the palm trees and is covering the ground. It is suppose to continue all night.....
And.......yes........its snowing along the beach we are very close to it.

We measured just under 2" in the yard a little while ago and still coming down pretty good. The wind got up for awhile so getting a good measurement is tough.

I am not a fan of the snow but they are beautiful pictures PD. I am a little confused this morning though. I understand the excitement, since it doesn't snow here everyday, but as a person who just moved from the North East I am a little baffled by the mild hysteria that I saw on the news this morning. Why would they cancel the marathon? I am not a runner but I know people that have run marathons and they say this is actually not bad running weather.

Here is a picture of downtown MB (not nearly as pretty as PD's pics)

Default Beach snow

Pictures from Surfside Beach, including one very dirty looking sand-covered snowman!

Does the snow and cold cause any harm to the palms?

I don't have expert information, but I would think the cold temperatures hurt them more than the snow (other then the weight of the snow causing damage). If the cold did not harm them, I would have a couple in my yard in NJ.
