Leoboy, as you can see from my previous post I am a little disenchanted with the DMV right now but I can tell you that they "SAY" that a US passport or a birth certificate can be used to prove you are a US citizen.

I should also mention you will need proof of SS#, Residency, and liability insurance

Did you try to present a passport? I too have been married before. It is the hope that a passport from the government will satisfy SC. We will be looking very hard at SC for possible relocation. We will be coming from Maryland. Apart from DMV... are you happy with your move?

Well hello neighbor! I just moved from Maryland and yes despite this minor annoyance I am extremely happy with my move.

I do not have a passport but it is not listed under the legal documents they will accept to prove a name change. (adoption records, marriage certificate or license issued by state/county records office, certificate of naturalization, and court ordered name change) ...

Call me crazy but I think they should be able to type my SS# into their computer and see all the LEGAL names associated with it? .... just a thought
