I haven't heard about Disney but the Hard Rock Corporation is building a huge theme park that is supposed to open by Spring 2008. It is just west of Myrtle Beach off of Hwy 501.

I haven't heard that either. Although I have heard rumours of a "studio" buying the old navy base in Charleston and making a studio/park there.

FYI, many of the rides and attractions from the Pavillion are being moved over to Broadway at the Beach. It is being billed as Pavillion Memories or something like that. It should be a nice addition to Bwy @ the Beach.

Default Disney or Hard Rock

We heard about a year ago that the old Wacamaw shopping outlet was bought by Universal and there was going to be a huge park. Our daughter's company has been renting this property for the past 3 yrs. for rehearsals for the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular and don't think it will be available anymore.

Don't know about Disney but HRP Myrtle Beach Operations LLC has designed and is constructing the world's first Rock and Roll theme park, scheduled to open in the spring of 2008. It is a 400 million dollar, 150 acre park which will include rides, amphitheatres, retail etc. They have been presented with the original Magical Mystery Tour Bus from the Beatles movie.
You can see it at http://www.hrpusa.com/ they even have a web cam so you can watch the construction!

Disney World could have been in eastern Orangeburg County years ago if our state's leaders weren't so shortsighted.
