We don't live in Windsor Plantation but it was one of the communities that we considered when we were looking for a home. It's a lovely community and hopefully someone that lives there will also chime in. The two major drawbacks that we observed were:
1. Traffic, especially on the weekend in the summer, backs up from the beach way past the front entrance to the community. Even in the off season, traffic can be nightmarish in that area. I would never try to come out of the community and turn left. When we looked, the only other access was on Big Block Road and that was gated and only the people who lived in the gated portion of the community had access to that entrance.
2. There is a concrete plant on Big Block Road right outside the community. At the time we were looking, the only houses being built were near the plant so we ruled it out. With the other areas opened up further from the plant, it's probably not an issue but one should be aware of its location and take it into consideration.
These are the two reasons we ruled it out which was a shame because we really liked the houses, the fact that it has natural gas and is really convenient to shopping and the beach.
One of my friends lives in Windsor Plantation and loves it.
