Hi there from the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia! I am planning a vacation to the Myrtle Beach area and have a few questions. My friend and I want a more quiet place along the beach instead of being in a busy part of Myrtle. I am looking at an Airbnb at 70th Avenue North. It’s very close to Monterey Bay Suites, Ocean Reef Resort and directly at Caravelle. It is a condo called The Little Beach Gem. I’ve been told the beach area here is rocky. True? If so, do you have any suggestions where he and I could stay where there is a sandy beach area? The price range we are looking for is approximately $1000 for 7-8 days. We just want a quieter and sandy area. :-) Thank you so very much for your time.

Tanya

If you want quiet, look down to Surfside and Garden City Beach. However, if you still want MB, here's a YT video a realtor did of 70th Ave North in MB.

Hi Straitlover: thank you SO much, and I agree with you. Doesn’t look rocky to me either. Have a great week! The first snow in my area happened last night into today for a total of 6 inches so thinking about a warm beach is helpful to my spirit. :-) Thanks again!

No rocks on the beach except for jetties but you will not run into those in Myrtle Beach.

I used to live up around 70th Avenue North and one of my besties live on the ocean there. I love the area and of course I would stay up there.

You may want to touch base with a realtor and consider somewhere in North Myrtle Beach - Cherry Grove Beach for instance. Quiet, a bit out of the main stream and very nice. Not sure about pricing however. You may want to Duckduckgo Prince Resort in Cherry Grove (North Myrtle Beach). Good luck!!

The Grand Strand has nice, firm sandy beaches....unlike the Outer Banks, where walking on the beach is difficult because of the soft, "sloggy" sand...you sink and it's not a relaxing way to walk! Plus, the surf on the Grand Strand has less under-tow, which makes getting wet a bit nicer.
I don't think you'll have any issues!

I agree. I vacationed in Cherry Grove, a number of times, between 1980 and 2001. Really enjoyed it.

That area isn't rocky at all. I don't know anywhere along the Myrtle Beach area I would consider rocky.

Who told you it was rocky? Doesn't the condo listing show pictures of the beach? Most do.
