Rocky goes broke and has to move back to the neighborhood. Enter Tommy Gunn.

I'm the only person I know of that likes this one. Literally I have never met anyone else who liked it.

Does anyone on here?

It's a silly movie. Rocky "goes broke" to the point he has to ditch his entire estate and move back "to the streets."

Nobody goes down that hard. Not even MC Hammer.

Well it is a movie after all.

Just going out yesterday that Rocky 1-4 have novels that were based off the scripts. How I've never seen one is beyond me.

Novelizations.

They were probably only sold on the rack by the checkout at supermarkets (next to the Batboy special editions of National Enquirer) within 3 months of the films release. After that, they were worthless as anything except perhaps recycling.

Of course no one likes it. No one wants to see ROCKY lose.

Stallone himself later admitted that he made it out of greed.

It was a very stupid movie, unwatchable.

From the absurdity of Paulie managing all of his money and assets, like 100% of it (seriously? no professional financial management? the whole concept is stupid) to the absurd street fight and the hype up to it, the whole thing was just awful.

Paulie gave rocky's accountant power of attorney and he lost it all. I'm not sure how that got into the script lol

I liked it. Why? Because the movie took a chance to go in a whole new direction. How he lost everything...wife passes away...brain damage....my favorite line "You knocked him down, why don't you go try knocking me down"....

I think the 2005 movie Rocky Baloboa really ruined things quite a bit......and then Creed was outstanding where he should won the Oscar....but Creed II was too much like Creed I

Rocky Balboa was outstanding. And probably doesn’t get made if not for the atrocity of Rocky 5. Stallone readily admitted it himself and how sad it would have been to end the Rocky series on that note and what a catastrophe Rocky 5 was. And never mind the ridiculous story lines, the acting was awful all-around and the final cut obviously hastily sewn together.

Rocky Balboa, albeit the idea of him coming back in the ring in his 50s and sticking toe-to-toe with a current heavyweight champion is far-fetched, was well-scripted, well-acted, and thoughtful on different levels. It’s one of the very best sports movies all-time and nearly as inspirational as the original Rocky.
