Hi Friends, My wife and I will be moving to the SC. coast in two years. We've been looking at the real estate from Murrell's Inlet up the coast to NMB and Little River. The town of Little River seems to deliver the most bang for the buck. I understand it's a few miles off the coast which would probably account for it being more affordable. But are there any other reasons for the price differences compared to other areas. We've been looking at townhouses as well as homes that are between 100,000 and 200,000. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It's a hop, skip and jump from the action at NMB...it's a nice community! And you're right...you do get a bit more "bang" for your buck! It's close to the access for 9 and 31...and as I said, NMB and Cherry Grove are right there.....can't really use a golf cart to get around, but it's a very short, easy drive.

A bit slower pace up on that end for sure.

Depends on what you need around you if you want to drive or stay close.

Personally I like the south end better then the north but everyone has to choose to fit their budget and needs.

Default New transplant--LR is good choice

From our home, we can get to the beach in 10 minutes; adjacent to North Myrtle Beach which has concerts and festivals and a very nice Aquatics center for water and gym exercise, yoga, etc. More of a laid back feel. Good access to highways, Myrtle Beach activities, and shopping.

Highly recommended.

We are also looking in the MB/Murrells Inlet area and will be visiting the area in July/August.
We are now turning our attention to the Little River area. We like it near the beach but also want to
check out the Little River area to get a feel for what it would be like in that area.
We are looking for 55+ communities in that area. Our primary goal is to retire down there so we are
looking for affordable homes that are in "move in condition".
Most importantly, we would also like some more feedback on the area in general. Please keep the
posts coming.

Regards,
Len

Thank you all for your info. It has been very helpful. We will be taking a closer look at Little River when we take our annual vacation at NMB in early September.

My realtor called it the wild wild west. I know its not as upscale as other areas, even though Im sure that there are nice neighborhoods. It has a cool little area on the intercoastal with some restaurants and bars and the casino boat. Personally, its too far from the beach for me.

Default Off to the beach !!!

Probably less than 10 minutes to Cherry Grove Beach , a little more to the beach at Ocean Blvd and Main Street in NMB . I get what Beachangel is saying but it is not the wild ,wild west . Some of the newer neighborhoods border some of the rougher areas , that's all . Brand new neighborhoods being built up off Rt17 , Rt9 , Rt90 and State Hwy57 . Houses ranging from $175,000 - $350,000 , some will have natural gas , Palm Lakes Plantation and Hidden Brooke come to mind .
