Preface-
I do not have children.

I have not heard the best about St. James. From parents I know to School Resource Officers I know... If it were ME, I would want my child in either the Carolina Forest school district or the MB district.

My niece is currently at Ocean Bays Elementary. She's doing very well and likes her teachers. My sister in law has plans to move out of The Farm and my advice to here was no matter what, she needed to keep her daughter at Ocean Bays..

Thank you Amy so much for your advice. I have been on the school district site looking at the schools and also for a job for myself! I work at a school here. Carolina Forest seems the best. Does sound good about the 10 min. to the beach - you can park on any street and go to the beach? I see you are in real estate - do you deal in rentals? We are planning on a visit Easter week to look around. Thanks for your help.

Carolina Forest is not that bad with traffic - once you live here you will know your way around and which roads to take. I came from NJ in Bergen Cty. THAT was bad traffic.

rrufast - my son also goes to Ocean Bay - he has a great teacher. We also live in The Farm.

I've lived here for 15 years now. Carolina Forest traffic pales in comparison to traffic on 17 in the NMB during tourist season.

Carolina Forest traffic is judged on the hwy 501 side and so many folks forget that there is a whole 'nuther end to get in and out of the CF area... International/Grissom and River Oaks/501, neither of which are bad 95% of the time.

On the other hand, when I worked in NMB, I can't count the times I sat and sat and sat trying to get down to and thru the Barefoot/Briarcliffe area. Friday evenings were the worst... Holiday weekends.. forget it.

Of course, 31 has helped alleviate this wait, but you have to go up to Hwy 9 to get on 31.. at least for now. Once the Main St. connector is in, travelling from the NMB area to the south end will be a breeze..

And I agree with GJM... I never truly experienced traffic until I visited Central and North Jersey. Nothing like being in bumper to bumper on 18, 287 or the 'Turnpike".

I thank you all for all your advice and thoughts. We always go to that German restaurant in NMB and the traffic is awful. I realize it will be bad all summer, may be nice to be over in Carolina Forest! I will surely look in that area. Now to find a job!

Oh, yeah, German John! Last year it was a husband and wife duo, not the same. So, do you know of any good rentals coming up in June? NMB or Carolina Forest area?
