My husband and I are relocating to the area in April with our two year old daughter from New York. I have been researching the area and I am interested in the Carolina Forest, Socastee, and North Myrtle areas. We would like to live close to the beach, not necessarily walking distance, with reasonable rent less than 1000 per month. Any suggestions? Also, a concern has been that we are a biracial couple. My husband is white and I am mixed. It seems so terrible to have that be a consideration when choosing a place to live, however I grew up in a small town in New York, and you would be surprised at some of the things I have experienced. I certainly don't want to offend anyone by asking that question, but it is something that I really would like to know. I have a positive attitude and I am a kind and friendly person, so any positive or negative feedback would be welcome. Thank you in advance for any constructive responses!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited to become a South Carolinian

Carolina Forest is mostly people from the Northeast (NY, NJ, MD, PA, etc) you'll be completely fine however it isn't close to the beach at all and traffic is very heavy getting in and out of Carolina Forest.

I would also look at the Myrtle Heights section of Myrtle Beach. Great schools, MB Primary, Middle, and High School possibly walking distance and very close to the beach. I grew up in that neighborhood.
