PG is a city rec center. Very cheap to swim there. We left and went to Claire Chapin YMCA swim team near north Myrtle. It’s five days a week practice, and he can do travel meets. He loves it.
Tidelands Healthpoint offers lessons On Pawleys. It’s just a smaller pool with no diving blocks etc. some high school teams practice there.
Many people who want their kids swimming competitively choose to join a team like CAC. My son loves swimming but I’m doing it more to get him active and he loves the social aspect of the team. He could read all day if not on swim team. CAC is much more expensive than the YMCA - which requires a YMCA membership and swim team fee.
