Just bought a winter home in Myrtle Beach. Looking at Internet options and there doesn't seem to be a big selection to choose from. I don't need a phone since we have cell phones but we both work from home so I need high speed capability. Any ideas?
You're right in that there are not a lot of options and the options are limited by where you live...not all providers service every neighborhood. However, we've had very good experiences with HTC...it's a local company so you get a real person on the phone instead of a phone tree. They've been very responsive and few outages.

I have had good service with HTC. Professionally run company imo. If you talk to them, request that they install a cable modem for you, it cost no more for me and really speeded things up on my laptop. Good luck!

We have TW in Murrells Inlet (for the past 5 years). We have internet/phone/cable. I have no complaints. The office (where you can exchange equipment, pay your bill, etc.) is close and never too crowded. You can still get a decent selection of stations through the cable (without a box). We have Optimum in NJ. Comcast/Xfinity in FL. TW is as good or better and not the most costly of the three.......
Thanks for your thoughts everyone. We get basic cable through our HOA so we are not looking at that. The only thing we really need is high speed internet. And yes, we know the racket of only buying one and not a bundle from a provider.
My son gets the high speed internet from time warner in upstate ny and says it is good. He pays like $76 a month. I'm not sure if it is the same from state to state though but he says the connection is good...
