I have been reading a lot of blogs with good questions with good answers for people looking to relocate to MB/MI/PI and responses from residence. It has been very helpful.

We are going to take the advise of many and look for a place to rent for 6-12 months to get a better feel of which residential areas would fit us best before we decide to purchase a house. We are retired and will be checking out single level living.

Would someone be able to recommend some nice apartment complexes the would allow 2 cats and be close to Murrell's inlet or the lower part of Myrtle Beach area? We would be looking for a 2 bedroom/2 bath place minimum. It seems as though the few houses for long term rental require a 12 month commitment. We are thinking more like 6 months in case we find the house of our dreams in the first few months. Either furnished or unfurnished would work and we would need to have a washer/dryer in the place. We are going to sell ours with the house because it is a gas dryer and it seems as though most places in the area are all electric.

Thanks for any help.

I live at Tupelo Bay in Garden City (just north of Murrells Inlet) and there are owners here that allow pets and do shorter term rentals. The condos are individually owned and some rent out their own properties, but many use Rose Real Estate. They have furnished as well as unfurnished units. Good luck with your move.

Market Common is a wonderful option. There are apartments there you can rent and there are several communities with very nice homes to buy reasonably. You have all kinds of amenities at your fingertips such as restaurants, shops, park, theater, and the beach is less than two miles away. Check it out!
