hello,
we've never been to myrtle beach and we are going there in june for a family reunion. the rich relatives are going to be renting something on or near the beach. we are trying to watch our money and would like to stay somewhere cheaper, maybe inland, and drive 10 to 15 minutes to meet up with them. are there hotels or condos in a less congested area where we could stay? when i look on vrbo or tripadvisor they all seem like they are in the main beach areas. any suggestions?
thanks!
I also have never been to Myrtle Beach but am in the process of booking a hotel on the beach, they generally run around $100 per night in the spring, getting off the beach area there is a definite reduction in price and i'm sure even more so if you look around the Conway area..
there seems to be some cheaper stuff in little river. is it worth staying out there? any other towns i should look into?
I live in the Cherry Grove area of North Myrtle Beach which is next to Little River. This is a fine area with a water front on the intercoastal. Nice restaurants. You will be appx 25 minutes for the middle of Myrtle Beach.
We know people who have stayed at the Comfort Inn in Little River with room charges in the $60+ range. The beach is about 10 minutes away at Cherry Grove in North Myrtle Beach.
What about a hotel on 501 going toward the beach? That way you can just jump on the highway and get to the beach in a relatively short amount of time. Or there are hotels near Broadway at the Beach, which is very close to major shopping areas and attractions.
Whoops, i should have said Sleep Inn, not Comfort Inn, in Little River as a low cost option, fairly close to the beach and easy on to the major routes.
