I would stay far away from Dr. Altman in Surfside. My dentist is David White 1602 Highway 17 N, Surfside Beach and I love him!!! 238-3332. For periodontics and/or gum surgery, Dr. Jeanne Fourrier 1947 Glenns Bay Rd 650-7171 is amazing.
Dr. Ray Cleary is great. He's part of Cleary, Capps, Goldberg and Obenchain (who is female if you prefer). Professionally operated office. Great dental work.

Of course everyone is entitled to their opinions and my opinion is that you should not go to this office. I have very specific reasons as to why you should not and if you want to know what they are, please contact me via DM.
I'm not fan of doctors nor dentists, but Roger Voltin was the best dentist I've ever been to.. Sadly, he sold his practice and is no longer in business..
HOWEVER, today, yes, on a SATURDAY, I had to visit Dr. Farrar's office in Conway to file/fill or repair a molar that I cracked Thursday evening. I wound up with Dr. Jason Kiggins.. Great guy.. Super personable.. the hygenist was great.. an all around great experience.. and, best of all.. did I mention a SATURDAY morning appt? Very reasonably priced, in my opinon, very clean office and patient room...
I would definitely recommend this office if you're looking for a dental office.
I visited the new Aspen Dental Clinic (843-874-4060), yesterday. They're located at the Grand Strand Mall, beside Cracker Barrel.
I was impressed by all the new equipment, especially the new type X-ray machine. They are giving complete x-ray exam to new patients right now, I guess because they are new. I believe that has to be worth $100.00 or more.
Their prices I found reasonable. The kicker, for me, was the lady Dentist that examined my teeth. I've never had a woman Dentist work on my teeth before. I liked it. She was very caring and explained everything she was doing and why and answered all my questions.
Yes, I would recommend them. All the assistants were nice, too.
It did feel funny to leave there not having spent big bucks, not even a dime.
For those in need of URGENT dental EXTRACTIONS, and i repeat EXTRACTIONS AND EXTRACTIONS ONLY. the SOS healthcare offers a program for those that are limited economically. You have to stop by their office located next to the health department on 21st ave N. in Myrtle beach, provide them with id and whatnot and they will send the forms to a local dentist in Myrtle beach, the doctor has been in practice for over 25 years. They will then schedule your appointment for the extraction and your out of pocket is 10$. SOS pays for some of the extraction cost and the Doctor donates the rest of the bill except for the 10$ copay.
