On a vacationing level I was always partial to Barefoot during the day and Broadway at night. Both have nice little shops and good food. But both share a different experience during the time of day. Broadway is good at night for the live music and bright lights. Barefoot always seemed to be a good walk around leisurely stroll during the daytime.

I've worked at both and probably of the two, Broadway at the Beach especially to see Bruce at night in front of Klig's Kites. He's hilarious.

If dining and live music is what is going to sway you, then Barefoot Landing. Their restaurants (Greg Norman, T-Bone, Flying Fish, House of Blues, Dinos, Umbertos, etc) are far superior to Broadway's in my opinion. This time of year you'll never get near Margaritaville but King Kong Sushi has the best sushi in town.

Fireworks every Monday night at Barefoot Landing and Tuesday night at Broadway At The Beach.

The best shopping and dining however is hands down at Market Common. Check the website (www.marketcommonmb.com) to see if they have fireworks or a special concert/event.

Come to think of it, it may just be a wash between Barefoot and Broadway. Go to whichever is closest to you.

As an occasional weekend visitor to the beach, I echo all this, only to add that Barefoot is more scenic to me, given its proximity to the Intracoastal Waterway and the lake on the property. Driving around for parking can be a headache though. Food selection is better too, but shopping for items, I'd probably give a slight edge to Broadway at the Beach.

And the movie theaters at Broadway at the Beach are top notch, I should mention as well.

Barefoot has fireworks every Monday night. And, House of Blues, if you're into entertainment...lots of big names perform there. Broadway has lots of bars and stuff like that! Both have plenty of shops to peruse.
