I KNOW what happens at our school because I have observed the class.
I KNOW what is going on in school, because my son tells me, he is in 5th. grade and I volunteer at school. In computer class they do Larson's or Compass.

We use to have 3 PE teachers when they had PE twice a week. They now have 2 for 1100 kids - I never said we needed more then 2 PE teachers.

And this is where your argument is completely flawed. They have 2 PE teachers for 1100 kids IN THE WHOLE SCHOOL! The PE teachers call classes by class, the whole school doesn't do PE at the same time every week. If the average class has 50 kids, then you have a ratio of 1:50 each week they do the PE specials. The specials are rotated in each school of Art, Music, Guidance, Library, PE, and Computer Lab, there are six "specials" in every school, with guidance and library being rotated bi-weekly.

Mon - Computer
Tue - PE
Wed - Music
Thu - Computer
Fri - Art

The kids go to the library when they need to - they don't go as a class and guidance is once in awhile it isn't every 2 weeks.

What is my argument about PE - I have no problem with that class or the amount of teachers - it works.

That is your kids schedule not the whole school....it rotates by grade.

I know that - but each grade has Computer 2 times a week, PE, Art & Music once a week.

It is the same for each grade level, just different days!

My sons schedule is

Monday - Computer Lab
Tuesday - Art
Wednesday - Music
Thursday - PE
Friday - Library or Guidance (Rotates each week)

This is a new one on me, for them to have computer lab done twice a week. One of those should computer labs should be filled with Library and Guidance.

I think she has to be confused ....maybe the computer lab is in the library....because state law requires Library in the curriculum.

It does?! We moved here when my youngest was in elementary school. He has NEVER had library class...and he's now in 10th grade.

Yes it is required in ele school....I can't believe parents would let their child go years without library....why has no one ever questioned that? I have to believe there is some type of misunderstanding here...

Guidance is also required, I don't know what school this persons child goes to, but if what they are telling us is the truth, then the school needs to be reported! Computer Lab can be done more than once a week per my wife, but that is a choice of the teacher, and the second is not considered a "special" just extra learning time, they are still supposed to have the required six "specials" in Elementary school, state requirement. I am wondering if there is some type of misunderstanding here or something, because I find this very very hard to believe!
