Many in the WVU student body are from New Jersey...need I say more?
The other huge significant group is from Pennsylvania...
WVU (locals) students for the most part are quiet...but the girls will give you the finger....and very defiantly, too...wonder what their mothers would say?
I've been wearing my Penn State hat to the games...just for the reaction...and its getting some, for sure.
Does anybody know what a Nittany is? Is it similar to a nit?
Man... what a day. Blown off off the field and court on national TV twice in the same day. Hurts a bunch but I still love WVU. Anyone experience the games personally? How'd that go?
Just a bad day. The sun will also come up the next day. My daughter and her husband experienced it but the 12.5 hour drive home instead on the 8-9 it should have taken was more painful to them. I guess I-95 was horrid.
I was there. It's always bad to lose, but it wasn't as bad
as you suppose. The basketball team was playing the #3
team in the country at their place, essentially playing without
a point guard and came away with a 15 point loss. There
aren't many other programs that would have done as well
under the circumstances so it really wasn't all that bad.
The football team was still playing in one of the higher profile
bowl games in Bobby Bowden's swan song, and with an
injured quarterback it came up 11 points short. Again, not
a horrible showing, and the 25,000 Mountaineer fans in
attendance still had a good time in Jacksonville.
It could have been a whole lot worse. We could have been
playing someone in the Who Cares Bowl somewhere up North,
or playing basketball against against a team nobody has
heard of. Our teams play against the Nation's best, and
sometimes (like everyone else) they come up a little short.
