Rumours of another huge condo project located in a huge lot next to Square Phillips. If the rumours are correct, we'll see another project with 1,000+ condo units. Height wise it'll be built to the maximum on this lot, so about 190-199 metres (but will be 232.5m above sea level)

That's pretty damn tall. It will contribute very nicely to the skyline. Any renders?

None yet but we should hear more in a few weeks. There's still a design competition going on and after that pre-sales will start. I did get an email yesterday from Brivia group that we should expect more soon and also invited to pre-sales. I'm just hoping that the towers will be unique since everything built lately, aside from a few standouts, are all boxes. Regardless though, between TDC2/3, this project + Maestria and Victoria Sur Le Parc, just those five projects combine for 4,000+ units. If we factor all the other projects u/c, approved or proposed it's at least 12-15k, which is marvellous for our downtown. It's honestly very exciting times to be in the city

Looks like the two parking lots next to Place Bonaventure are for sale now. 142.5k on land available, up to 1.46m sq ft development as well. The only odd thing I find is how the brochure says the height limit is 120 metres (394ft) when it's zoned for 200 metres (656 ft). Something nice and tall will look great with the remaining Quad Windsor project to the West and Banque National new HQ and Victoria Sur Le Parc (both 200m in height) to the East.

Very strange, considering the 1000 de la Gauchetiere is right next door and sitting at over 650ft.

I agree, something tall would look great there. Maybe it's to avoid hiding that building, as it serves as somewhat of a hallmark of the skyline...

Looking at the map again, it is indeed 210m zoning

This was taken in 2015 when CF got their height increase approval for TDC2/3 and phase one of 750 Peel (which is now two shoe boxes that belong in Regina).

You mean 120m?

And again, why? The 1000 is directly West of it, as is Tour de la Bourse...

Nah 210m, to the right you'll see Le 1000 and then the two parking lots where this press release was about. I think Cushman & Wakefield made a typo (there's a few actually). We'll see though, I'm sure 2019 will be a big year, especially given that interests rates will increase and the mayor wants to add 40% social/affordable housing to projects, both will slow down the market dramatically.

How's the REM construction coming along?

Also, a lot of revitalization activities happening on St. Hubert these days.

REM will be kicking into high gear this year! A lot of pillars are in place in the South Shore, digging for Edouard Montpetit is continuing (70m below ground) and they should be starting McGill shortly. Right now it's just pillars and digging but once the Champlain is completed (they just need to waterproof the deck and pace it) they will lay the tracks there.
