Over the years, we also saw a few movies at the Del Rey theater in Seaside.....

Most of the time we went to the drive in at Salinas. The 4 screen Auto Movies, or the Skyview.

We have many Fun memories of good times.

In the vicinity of the Del Rey Theater was one of the original SpudNuts doughnut shop -- they used potato flour and it made their doughnuts very fluffy and unique.

What was the name of the theater on Cannery Row (back during the '70s that had pillows on the floor rather than chairs). Always had funky movies playing. I remember seeing "A Clockwork Orange" there at age 18 or 19. Can't remember the names of any others, but I went there several times.

The 812 Cinema had pillow seating...

In the same vicinity of the 812 Cinema was the best record store on Earth -- Odyssey Records.

That's it!! Thanks for the link. So cool to see those old pics. And, I also saw Rocky Horror Picture Show there quite a few times. Such great memories!!

Here's another memory.... there was a record shop down on Del Monte, I think it was.... before you got to Fisherman's Wharf. Can't remember the name of it, either, but I bought lots of records there. Again, this would've been in the 1976-1979 timeframe.

Del Monte?

All I remember was Bosso Vending, they had a store/shop at Casa Bodega (now the liquor store at Del Monte & Fig) that sold 45 pulls from jukeboxes for 25 cents each.

Abinate Music & ABC Music Center were on Alvarado, all the latest hits $5 for LPs and 99 cent 45s. If one was feeling cheap you could go to Woolworth and buy 'cut out' LPs for 99 cents.

It was Abinante Music store. Not bad for a small town music store, but they did sell some really cheap Korean guitars back in the 1960's that would have given Frankenstein sore fingers.

Here is a photo of the owner with Bing Crosby.

Hmmm... my memory fails me... I don't recall if Abinante is the one I'm thinking of (it might be).... and the location where the liquor store is sounds familiar.... I was thinking it was kind of near where McDonalds use to be (is that even still there?)...
