More than likely they are being moved by the landlord to redevelop that portion of the center, also it may be a "right-sized" space for them if their existing location has become too big for their current needs.

Burke's Outlet will be filling the former Old Navy space. I thought Burke's had a location in the Festival Centre, but their current stores are at Schillinger Town Centre and in Saraland.

They may have at one time, but I remember they used to have stores on University Blvd next to the Walmart Market and in Tillman's Corner next to the former Kmart/Sears Essentials.

I think they've been moving into larger spaces since the recession....they took the former Goody's spot on Schillinger when they closed.

There was also a Burke's in Dauphin Island Parkway that was closed on Gulfdale Plaza in 2007.

Okay. So I heard from the man who is working at inside the abandoned mall that they might demolish the movie theater. Yes, I seen some poeple working inside the mall towards the cinema. There might be a chance for this mall to he renovated or something.

Based on the latest set of plans, and now that Burlington is moving into the old Best Buy space, that section of Springdale is likely going to be demolished and reconstructed into a different configuration for tenants

But if that's the case, then where is Big Lots going to move to?

They're likely staying put. The redevelopment plans involve subdividing the old Montgomery Ward (where Burlington is now) and reconfiguring the back end of the enclosed portion. More of a de-malling to make Springdale a strip center again once and for all...

Springdale was a strip center at one time ? I never knew that I think once the West Mobile airport is removed that location would be great for an out door shopping center like the ESC. The ESC is dead and may never come back to life.
