I know, but it is the words that are important. Do you have reason to believe that they are untrue? That they will not happen> or that that stuff in those words have not happened in other places?

These are serious questions. Open for anyone. Recreational MJ does not harm a family? Does not harm school age kids?

It was how it “went down.” He refused to bring the bill to the floor, effectively killing it. Where have you been?

Do you think beer/liquor distributors/brewers/bar owners kick a ton of money his way? Here’s some interesting news on why it was made illegal, basically racist fear mongering.

I randomly look at real estate all the time across the country. There’s at least 25 marijuana farms for sale in Northern California. This is a great business setup, but I’d still be weary, having cartel and others knowing what you have and is it still cash only via it’s still illegal on federal level.

“We are focused on the Minnesota Priorities that balance the budget without raising taxes, safely reopen schools and businesses to recover our economy, and support families. I would not consider legalizing recreational marijuana as a Minnesota priority.

“I am open to looking at additional medicinal uses and a conversation around drug sentencing. My main concerns are the unintended consequences of recreational pot, similar to the concerns we all have about tobacco, drinking, or prescription drug abuse. Just because it’s legal doesn’t mean there aren’t consequences. We’re just starting to learn about legalization’s adverse effects in other states like Colorado and Washington. There is no reason to rush this in Minnesota without learning more.”

But if you get caught with a oxycontin pill that you don't have a prescription for, you get hit with a low-level FELONY. I am guessing that was a bi-partisan effort to have such crazy laws put into place in MN.

And just to be clear, both you and Paul Gazelka are wrong regarding marijuana.

Your views are fearful, alarmist, and meritless based on current research and actual medical and scientific findings.

As an aside, Reefer Madness is not a legitimate documentary.

It is a propagandist, anti-marijuana film with racist overtones made encourage white youths to be sober and racially pure, nothing more.

According to a recent Forbes magazine article, even Charles Koch, along with many of the multi-billionaires, are sending tons of money to Congressmen and Senators, hoping to get Marijuana legalized on a national level.

For that to happen, you'll need 60 Senators to approve it, and even then, guess what? Biden is apparently opposed to legalizing it nationwide.

And what are we up against? Big Pharma, the liquor industry, would be, naturally, against it, that's a no-brainer.

Lucky Canadians, who have a young President who nationalized it with a stroke of the pen. Eat our hearts out!

Yes, marijuana should be legal, and lightly regulated, IMO.

Until fairly recently you could not purchase spirits (or even stronger beer) on Sundays off sale in Minnesota, and you still cannot buy spirits or strong beer in gas stations, grocery stores, etc....

I blame the Lutherans.......

Yep.
I've been out of MN 28 years now, completely accustomed to buying any alcohol beverage in any grocery store in AZ or NV, and I really thought, by now, this would have changed.

Better than TX where they still have their Dry Counties. My friend lived in Cedar Park, a suburb of Austin, and when I visited there we had to go across a county line where they had a bar to have a drink. But not in Cedar Park!

You have a real comprehension block going on and I’m quite certain it’s intentional.

Let’s try it again and maybe I’ll bust through that stone barrier around your brain. Kids aren’t supposed to have access to legal pot just as they’re not supposed to have access to alcohol. Adults who purchase these things and provide kids with them are subject to serious legal consequences.

As for the family as a whole, I know plenty of them with adults who drink and who have somehow managed to successfully hold jobs and raise kids the same as many non drinkers have. Why should users of recreational marijuana be any different? Tell me, please. Why do you hold marijuana in the same light as other legitimately dangerous drugs? Present us with some hard facts in correlation so we can begin to understand this suddenly rampant scourge of evil devouring our communities.

When legalized, there are other forms that do not need to be smoked (i.e. edibles)

One plus to legalization is that once legal in a state, those with a criminal records for going to prison for marijuana possession, their records are erased, and more eligible for employment. And those in prison for marijuana possession are released.

Prison costs run $40-50k a year per inmate, a big savings to taxpayers.

I come from the hippie period and marijuana was never my choice of drug as I preferred the psychedelic drugs.

Anyone heard of any big issues of the states that have legalized it?
