I’m thinking about moving to Saint Cloud and was needing some input. My daughter just moved to Monticello so I wanted to be close to that area but in a bigger area.
1) How’s the crime rate? I know there’s always the good side of town and bad side of town
2) Are there plenty of jobs?
3) How’s the hospital, healthcare’s?
4) Is there plenty to do or do you need to travel to the Twin Cities?
Thanks...

4) You do not need to travel to the Twin Cities for something to do.

Thanks. So I take it there’s things to do? Lol I didn’t know if it was one of those big towns that’s boring. I’ll be checking it out today but wanted some insight on the area.

You want to be close to your daughter who lives in Monticello but prefer a larger city? Why waste your time with St. Cloud when Minneapolis is only a few miles further?

I love the Munsinger Clemens Gardens on the Mississippi River. Check out the different activities going on there. Also, there are other parks in St. Cloud with special things going on that you can find out about online. I like being close enough to St. Cloud to take advantage of what it has to offer.

Enjoy your exploration!

I would move somewhere like Maple Grove. It's a large suburb of Minneapolis with lots to do, and it's right between Monticello and Minneapolis. Very safe and has its own hospital.

I stayed in Saint Cloud for a short time. It wasn't terrible, but its definitely not for someone who prefers a big city.

Hospital is great there.

I could do without all the roundabouts. Who decided to put all those in there?

the crime rate is about average or slightly below for the area (St. Cloud, Waite Park, Sartell, Sauk Rapids is about 100k people)

there are tons of "now hiring" signs out lately

the clinics and such seem to be fine

as far as is there anything to do, I guess it depends on what you like to do. I don't really go out much so I can't speak to that one.

It's not a bad town, but it's not mayberry either. all in all I like it... I've lived here for about 12 years so far.

Personally I have heard that St. Cloud is rough, just a different crowd up there than what we have here in Minneapolis. I've heard it from different people at different times, just that it is a rougher place, not as nice as what many of us are used to around here.
