I think the same criteria applied to Wisconsin would be a couple hundred lakes at the most.

btw, Minnesota also has over 69,000 miles of rivers and streams.
Cool! Didn't know they only counted lakes that were 10+ acres. That's a good website. I still prefer the shores of Lake Michigan over most of the lakes accessible to me here in MN. Although I will say, Lake Superior to the north of Duluth is awesome! Love going up there.

In WI you will find companies, especially in the more rural areas that actually close down for a week during hunting season.

Cost of living between MN and WI is about a wash--property taxes in WI are higher, other taxes are lower. MN usually is in the top ten for highest tax burden overall, WI is usually 3 or 4 spots behind.

The Twin Cities will have a more varied employer base then Milwaukee and Detroit. Crime rate is infinitely better in the Twin Cities then it is in Detroit, probably close to the same as Milwaukee in proportion to the population. You won't see the slums in Milwaukee and MSP like you do in Detroit either--not that there aren't some not so nice areas in both, just not on the same scale. Both Milwaukee and MSP are just nicer (cleaner, in better repair overall, etc.) then Detroit.
What a stunningly brilliant post, anyone who doesn't rep you is CRAZY!

Yeah except that post was composed NINE years ago to the day.

Minnesota in 2020 is not the Minnesota of 2011......and Minneapolis in particular is looking more Detroit-like every day.

I think you had to be here nine years ago to understand Ghengis’ post.

Yes, wasn't GolfGal one of those $5,000 winners, who posted a lot and then simply disappeared from C-D?

Yes, but I think many people argued with her and probably didn’t think it was worth it anymore? I came across a past poster on the Montana forums who’s reputation was 3+billion, he’s also not active anymore. Many people want him and another poster to write books with all their local knowledge.

I'm guessing that you're talking about ELKHUNTER. His posts were very entertaining and usually pretty spot-on. He passed away and everyone on the board pushed his reps to the stratosphere.

Yep, that’s him. I only read one of his posts and noticed his reps, now it makes sense.
