What's wrong with Woodbury? Based on my research, it seems like a great surburb with house subdivisions and good schools. It's expensive though.

I'm a small town girl and I like Bloomington for the time I have been here. I want something smaller and I have had great neighbor's.
I'm sure Bloomington is nice. I just prefer smaller place with central location for quick drive to both Minneapolis and St. Paul.

I totally agree about Minnetonka! It was gorgeous when I last visited there few years ago. If it wasn't so expensive, I would live there in a heartbeat!

Bloomington's pretty close to St. Paul. And the airport.

The schools are good.
Some people don't like generic cookie cutter house subdivisions. I don't really like them, though wouldn't mind living in them at all.
Suburbs like Woodbury generally aren't very walkable and the majority of shopping and restaurants are big box stores and chain restaurants. Of course there are mom and pop shops and restaurants, but the majority of the places aren't. No need to give me a long list of locally owned shops and restaurants because I already know they exist in places like Woodbury.

I think that in this case Woodbury seems like an excellent option. Very suburban, which is what the OP wants. Safe, lots of families, good schools. More expensive than some other options, though.

Eden prairie, Minnetonka or Chanhassen are my recomendations. Best school districts, most beautiful and quality of life. And the commute is no more then 20
Minutes from dtwn Minneapolis.

You might want to consider Hastings. It is maybe an hour from Minneapolis. Some people consider it a suburb, while some don't. It is very much it's own nice little town.

Or maybe it's like 35 minutes to Minneapolis
