Looking for quiet parks in Mpls area with picnic shelter & bathroom. Decent bathroom, that is. And picnic table under a roof.

Wabun Picnic area in the Minnehaha Regional Park. Several covered shelters and a large clean bathroom. Has a disc golf course, splash-pad and a very nice play area for the kids. This overlooks the #1 Lock and Dam (still operational) on the Mississippi.

Any places in particular in Lake Nokomis Park and Theodore Wirth Park where there would be a nice bathroom nearby and sheltered picnic tables? This will be for a get-together where these are a necessity.

Thought Nokomis had some sort of large main type place, like a band shell? area? NOT sure, some others on here may know more information. Both of these parks are several miles long, so for sure there is plenty of spots to choose from. Just get in the park system and drive through keeping an eye out for the right spot. I do know that there are many such spots in Wirth Park, several near that newly named lake, is one of the main places. Sounds fun, hope you get a spot and have a great time. We all need that nowadays, seems.

Cheers

I drive through and around Nokomis every day, I can not recall ever seeing a covered picnic shelter. Yes there is a large bathroom facility by the bigger beach.

Wolfe Park in St Louis Park has a couple covered shelters. It is a quiet park but I don't recall seeing a bathroom beyond a porta-john.

Seriously though, that time of year is slipping away quickly. I doubt physical bathroom facilities will be open much longer no matter where you're looking.

Still think Wabun is your best bet.

Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park has shelters for picnics but not sure of facility access for bathrooms but likely there is something.
