Yea. But they could very well put the money down before I can. That's why I want to get a hold of them so I can put money down. They ask for $200.00 to get the apartment off the market but if I can get in touch with them now, I'd be more than happy to put the first month down non refundable just to get it cuz I know I really want it

Edit: Is Brooklyn Park a fairly good place to live? I need to keep researching and I seem to find a lot of apartments there in the area.

Brooklyn Center and parts of Brooklyn Park are amongst the highest crime areas in the Twin Cities. But, the northern part of Brooklyn Park is much, much better (and probably even pretty crime-free). The city website for Brooklyn Park has a pretty good crime mapping program, so I'd find out where a potential apartment is and check that map first.

If you give people an idea of where your job is and/or other parts of the metro you would like to be close to, then you might get some suggestions on where to look for apartments.

Thank you. The job I have is located in Fridley, MN.

Generally speaking, Fridley and the surrounding areas will be safer than Brooklyn Center. Fridley is generally not going to look super nice. But, there are some fantastic trails/parks. I'd personally consider living near what shows up as Locke Park around Rice Creek (beautiful trails in a wooded, meandering creek bed). There's also Springbrook Nature Center, Moore Lake, and obviously the Mississippi. Columbia Heights will have a bunch of ethnic restaurants, but is probably slightly higher crime than Fridley and the parks/trails are much less frequent. Blaine is north and is lower crime than Fridley and will generally look nicer, particularly east of Highway 65 (though it might be hard finding a place to rent and traffic on Highway 65 can be bad). Blaine also has the National Sports Center, so you might check out a place near there if you find a program that excites you there and/or you are into playing sports. Mounds View and New Brighton are east of Fridley and generally safe. East of 35W I'd guess things are generally considered nicer but more expensive (though Lexington and Circle Pines are more like Mounds View and New Brighton).

Thank you guys.

I got the apartment! Only 2 left at the end of the day! So now theres one left. But here's the info.

Skyline Real Estate Services

I have the 2 bedroom single bath apt. So if anyone needs a place to live and would want a roommate... let me know. You do have to pass the landlord's requirements such as background/credit/employment check and etc.

I don't know too much about the North Metro because I never really have any reason to go up there, but I hear Brooklyn Park isn't the nicest. That's the beauty of renting though, if you get sick of an area or find something better someplace else you can easily move!

XD

As it turns out, I got an e-mail today from my landlord and he had given me that last 1 bedroom apartment. Saves me $160 a month over that 2 bedroom. So I'm much happier now.

I have yet to see the apartment in person but from what I hear, everything is new... xcept for the building.

I jst really need a place to stay and sleep in. Since I'll be mostly working half the time.

Brooklyn Park is an inner suburb and I find that is how most apartments there are. My friend lives in Saint Louis Park. His apartment was probably built in the early 1980s. He has newer carpet, appliances, paint, even a pool, etc., but you can tell it's kind of a "blah" outdated apartment complex.
