Much of Hialeah is middle-class and well-kept, especially northern Hialeah and western Hialeah (and some of southern Hialeah bordering Miami Springs). It is NOTHING like Overtown and Liberty City. I honestly would not even think of Hialeah as being one of the top 5 worst suburbs in South Florida. It's not my favorite place, but there are much, much worse areas than Hialeah.

No, they live in a suburb of Ft. Lauderdale. They're in separate counties and not that close to Dade. A suburb of Miami would be Kendall for example.

If you want to be near the new marlins stadium you should check out the Brickell area. It's safe and close to everything and walkable.

The suburbs of Miami are those cities/outlying areas that are in Dade county. Areas in Broward county are considered suburbs of Fort Lauderdale. I don't know what else to really say on the matter.

Technically speaking, anything in Palm Beach, Broward or Miami-Dade counties are all in the Miami Metro Area, so they would technically be Miami suburbs as Miami is the host city, and these counties are within its metropolitan area. However, others say otherwise and split the Miami metro area into three areas: Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. It depends on who you ask. I've lived in all three counties, so to me it's all the same, Miami/South Florida/Miami Metro Area, it's all Miami.
