Dwayne Wade lives in that area? I know he lived in Pinecrest and sold his place a few years ago, but I hadn't heard he moved west of US1. I know OJ lives there his yard is looking nice, didn't know Wade lives in this area are you sure about that?

You are right, He does live in what you would call Pinecrest. Whatever, east of US1 it gets even nicer that the area I was talking about (west of US1 but east of 874).

Yes, her family or 'estate' still owns her childhood home off of Kendall Dr, its a decrepit looking property of at least 3-4 acres that looks way out of place. There is a Google Earth affiliated website that I looked at one time and if you have Google Earth, it will zoom in on every famous person's house in Miami provided that you click on their name. FYI if you want to see where Janet Reno lived, it is the overgrown paddock w/ dirt road on the SW corner of Kendall Drive and SW 112 Ave. Let me know if you find it.

It is located behind Van Orsdel on 112 Ave close to Kendall. It's one of the few nice homes left on its 2.5 acre lot. There is a nasty looking development, "gladewinds" to the south of it. There are still some decent homes on their 1.5-2.5 acre lots in the immediate area, which has the real Kendall feel to it.

I grew up in East Kendall and now work in that area. I am thrilled with the master plan for "Downtown Kendall" too.

There is not an official west boundary for East Kendall, but I would also consider it to be SW 107 AV. At most, SW 117 AV; but as others have said SW 87 AV is too far east. It would leaves only the commercial district and "Downtown" area for the most part.

A quick update to the above - the Kendall Federation of Homeowner Associations considers SW 107 AV to be the western boundary of East Kendall, and they indicate they are taking their lead from the County Board of Commissioners... so that answers that

Default Condos Downtown Dadeland

My daughter has lived there 1 year. She uses the metrorail as transportation and walks to Dadeland Mall, Publix and the Shoppes at Sunset. The rooftop pool, large jacuzzi and workout center opened a month ago and are wonderful. The security and other amenities are great. The prices and rental rates are in keeping with the greater Miami lifestyle.

Definitely not as suburban as West Kendall.
No, Kevin....actually those condos are prices similar to or HIGHER than Brickell!!! Just checn the MLS. If you want to walk (without crossing 8-lane highways) and take the Metrorail, Brickell/Downtown are really the only options in Miami. If you want to drive on the expressway to work, East Kendall is fine, but you can probably find a house for a similar price as Downtown Dadeland.

I live here....trust me, this area is NOT walkable at all, unless you want to take your chances crossing US1, taking your life into your own hands, literally! Sure, this area is more convenient than most places in Miami, but there are no parks and no real amenities. However, East Kendall is far nicer than West Kendall, IMO. If you work in Downtown Miami, the Metrorail is convenient.
