Key West has always been one of my favorite places in the world. My Wife and I can't say enough great things about it. I guess when we're there, it's a different attitude, a different kind of relaxation. When we're there, we just don't want to leave. We live in the greater Fort Lauderdale area and we make it down to Key West whenever we can. We just love "old Key West" charm.

Lately, though, I would say in the last couple of years, Key West is being ruined by stickers. If you've been down there recently, you know what I mean. Stickers stuck everywhere. All over Duval Street, all over restaurant window, docks, marinas, light poles, bike racks, parking meters, literally all over Old Town Key West. So disappointing! Why hasn't the city done anything about this? To me, it's just as bad as graffiti and it's destroying Key West. What a shame for such a wonderful city.

What are your thoughts?

Some examples.

Stickers are by far the least of KW's problems, lol.

The sticker thing has been going for at least 20 years, if not longer.

Hopefully, it keeps the more sensitive among us away. We'll be there next month. Can't wait!

Not to be argumentative, but, no. Been going down there for the better part of 45 years. If there were a sticker here or there, no one noticed. In the last couple of years, it's become a stand-out, an eyesore. One cannot walk anywhere in Old Town and not see the stickers covering almost everything. It never used to be that way.
I mean, c'mon! This truck only started looking like this in the last year or two. It's just getting out of control and I'm just wondering if it's going to get worse before it gets better.

Browsing the forum, and coming across this thread, and saw the OP's comment that "Key West is being ruined by stickers", I thought that the OP meant tourists who would come for a vacation and then end up moving there, until I read further.

Now I see this literally means stickers as in a graphic with an adhesive backing.

I understand the appeal and aesthetic this gives to certain businesses but it's overkill. This is absolutely hideous and should be banned by local city ordinance. It's delving into trash territory. Yes, the city relies on tourist looking to party and drink but it still has to be kept up for locals. No wonder people have constantly complained how trashy it's become year after year. This is how it starts.

The rust on the hood of that truck tells me that these are load bearing stickers.
