Yes. My friend living in another state just got over it for the second time and was vaccinated and boosted. She said that she feels much better but still has fatigue when she starts to move around. At my other residence, 10 people in the building tested positive, including a neighbor on the floor who spends a considerable amount of time being driven in our car. So far, no one in the family has it.
Yep. My co-worker, who got the vaccine and three boosters and is always telling me I should get them (but do not), just got it last month. So much for the jab. Does nothing. And don't anyone tell me it kept him from dying because there is no way to know that. I got covid in the beginning when there was no vaccine and never came close to dying. If I had the shot, it would have been credited for saving my life. BS!
Can't confirm, because I never bother with testing, but pretty sure I had it a few mo's ago for a couple of days. Terrible head congestion, which I'm used to with allergies, but also included some very tight chest issues. Had me worried for a minute there but subsided. I'm also 3x boosted. I'm sure the vaccine helps but to think this was forced on people is an American tragedy.
P.S. I was one of the first, however unconfirmed cases of covid back in Dec 2019. Around xmas. I caught it at the Resort Casino over by Aqueduct. How do I know this? The place is flooded with Chinese foreigners and, as we now know, the virus was brought to NYC by the Chinese, specfically in Flushing/Elmhurst areas of Queens. As a long time Flushing resident, I noticed many Chinese wearing masks starting in late Nov 2019. Even my Chinese neighbors were telling me about some virus "back home." Similar to SARS. It's amazing how the media ignored it and still to this day claims the virus started in 2020 around Feb/March...and came to NYC from Europe! What a crock.
The company I work for still has an employee hotline for reporting and contact tracing. For 7000+ employees, we are seeing single digits of positive cases on any given day. Now that the company is no longer facilitating testing, and employees may have already utilized any state-sponsored covid leave time, there is a good chance that even those testing at home are simply not reporting and using regular sick days.
I do not know how many times I had it because I did not go to see any doctors for nearly 3 years. However, I felt like I had walking pneumonia in January. It did not feel exactly like Pneumonia though and my doctor said the chest xrays did not indicate Pneumonia and it did indicate inflamed airways (bronchitis). It wasn't like any bronchitis I ever had. This time it got me with the breathing and I probably should have gone to the emergency room (but, I have been staying out of hospitals and doctor's offices until I fell and broke my kneecap and then I had to deal with doctors). That's how I picked it up (which is precisely the reason I was avoiding it in the first place).
It's going to be around forever. It's just that it's killing an acceptable number of people now. Just make sure it's not you.
I am going in to sign an updated will today. Needless to say, 2023 has been a bit of an eye opener so far between the not really breathing and other medical issues that are popping up after having not seen doctors for several years due to the pandemic.
it is so far from the alpha and delta versions and the effects that those versions had that i would worry about the flu more
Yep it’s pretty much a background virus now. Something that’s not going away but is now akin to a cold for most. The original variant (which I got in march 2020) was nasty
