To educate your self about the real estate prices on LI, here is the multiple listing site. Try looking and see what you think. There is even a section for rentals.
If you mean me. No I am not an agent. If I were an agent. You would also have to pay the fee that every agent charges. Which is 1 months rent in cash. On top of all application fees. Background & credit check fees too. Then security deposit. Which is always at least 1 months rent or more. Many landlords are now asked for 2 months rent as security now. Then you have to pay first months rent. So to move in you would need to come up with 3 months rent & any application fees they might charge if you use a realtor. Don't know why you are insistent on a realtor. Why are you insistent about a realtor by the way?
I'm glad I would never be so mean to someone in my life I will do just fine
If you were referring to me, (hard to tell since you don't quote the prior post) being mean was not my intent, I am not being mean, just truthful, and I am very sorry if the truth hurts you. Your budget and circumstances just don't qualify you for special treatment. I provided the mls link for you, so you can see that none of us are making this up and picking on you. Sorry for your circumstances but being realistic would help you cope.
Here is how crazy the rental market is. I needed a short term rental near impossible. I found one had to pay $2500 realtor fee. Ends up I needed it longer than expected. We had to move Landlords where hesitant because I have a kid. Me and my wife make 65x the the monthly rent per year. It was when I showed them that I have enoguh cash to buy the house I'm renting, then they rented to me. New place had no realtor fee, landlord wanted unreal income for the property. Renting on LI sucks, I used to own 1/3 of a rental property, best day was when we sold it. We all made money while renting it, it was always a headache due to tenants.
Nuts to u Ian no I did not mean you , I need a good agent there are places we can find just not easy thanks
