How can anyone publish a credible list without New Cassel on it? It's the only place on Long Island that every truly made my NYC instincts kick into gear.

I don't think most people have even heard of New Cassel. I know it is somewhere in Nassau (near Roosevelt?), but I really never hear much about it. Does it even have schools or a PO ?

New Cassel uses the Westbury zip code and unfortunately is zoned in the "Westbury" s.d.; however, it's not part of the Village of Westbury (i.e. unicorporated). This is why most folks with kids zoned in the Westbury s.d. send their children to private school...especially from middle school on....

Completely different area/economic bracket that the town of North Hempstead is attempting to revitalize.

BTW I haven't shopped there since.
Yeah B-Town....ooops I meant C-Town is the same way. Even though it's only a few blocks away I'd rather go elsewhere, it's like a bodega and it smells bad in there.

I recall making a wrong turn one time and ended up in New Cassel. It had to be over 10 years ago and I don't normally get nervous in certain neighborhoods, but that time I did. That was the first time I heard of New Cassel. But I was through the area within the past couple of years and I don't recall it being as bad or threatening.

If you're in Westbury, but Old Country Rd. and the Wantagh...it's among the industrial section over there, north of OCR. It's very nice this time of year, yo.
