Oh, I sure have! Pocket dressing it is similar to what my family has always made. Our actual recipe is different, though. No egg is needed to hold them together. Just torn cornbread, biscuits, turkey broth, celery, onion and seasonings, formed into about 2 " ball shapes (rather than a pattie) and baked in the oven until the same consistency mentioned in the article. Ladled with turkey gravy on individual plates, as desired. Later on, they are great cold for a snack or lunch box addition. Especially with cold coca cola, which the author spoke of. About half the family like finely chopped oysters added to the dressing, but I like mine plain.

Sounds good but I never have heard of it. I asked my aunt up there and she said she wasn't familiar with it. She mentioned my family usually has the traditional "sage" stuffing and also "cornbread" stuffing as well. However, we always have Banana Pudding, Pumpkin Pie, Pecan Pie, Blackberry Cobbler and a few others I can't recall.

We meet at my grannys house and everyone brings a few dishes while my granny and aunts help cook afew turkeys. Also in my family since we have lot's of hunters it's usually a wild turkey that's been killed and also they'll bring some "deer sausage" or "venison sausage" to slice and eat with cheese and crackers.

It's usually more food than everyone can handle.
