I don't know how much time y'all will have on your visit, but if you like history and religious sites, you won't be far from the Saint Meinrad Archabby and Seminary (Saint Meinrad) and Lincoln's Boyhood Home (Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial (U.S. National Park Service)).

My family originally comes from Ferdinand. I can't imagine you meeting any kind of violence there.
Very rural and small town, but very peaceful and safe.
(Although I kind of wonder about your sister-in-law!!!)
Love the area - check out the Ferdinand forest.


Just noticed this was from 2011...did you ever move there?
