Funny, I've never seen one at a speed greater than 56 mph.

It's true.

LOL! LOL!

Also, in addition to FIB, you know what a FISHTAB is and think it's equally as funny.

My, uh, driving record (IL, AZ, OK, MO, TN) would suggest otherwise.

ROFL!!! Way too funny! I went to college in Chicago, once upon a time, and when we go back to visit family that traffic report still cracks me up...why not just say "ya know suckers, it's going to be a loooooong morning"? Takes less time and pretty much gets the same information across lol.

My girlfriend has always lived in Chicago until recently and she has always refered to it as Chi town....so that one doesn't suprise me at all.

I tend to stay as far from Chicago as possible seeing as my Mother-in-law lives there, but my favorite thing about down town is Garrett's popcorn...oh, to die for!!!

She should get an award for being the sole Chicagoan who actually uses that term.

You know you're from Illinois when:

1) You can buy 10 ears of really fresh corn for $1.00!
2) Your ears pop when you drive on steep inclines in parking garages
3) You can comfortably go without socks until the first frost and can don shorts when it's 50 degrees outside
4) Your Governor being investigated and eventually going to prison is of no surprise
5) You can feed a family of 5 people on a $5.00 by either buying a raccoon or 5 Chicago Vienna red hots
6) You have a really deep respect and admiration for Abraham Lincoln
7) You visited your State Capitol on a grammar school field trip
8) You're shocked to learn that some other states don't have a wage employment tax
9) Your governor doesn't live in the Governor's mansion
10) You have a serious panic attack the first time you go skiing on a bunny hill
11) You use water freely and pay next to nothing for it
12) You consider Indiana and Iowa "fly over" states
13) You grimace when people pronounce the "S" in Illinois
14) You scratch your head over the fact that Wisconsin's highways are in much better shape and are free to use
15) You've secretly wished that Mike Ditka would run for Governor
16) You watch the "Da Bears' skits on SNL reruns and actually know people like that
17) You've driven on our highway system and there's been nothing but corn or soybean fields to look at for 3 hours.
18) Other than your admiration for Abe Lincoln, you feel nothing in common with fellow Illinoisians that live 3 hours from you
19) You dream about retiring to a place with an ocean or desert
20) If you're a high school athlete, you're going to be drug tested

Love #4 and # 13, but I really don't get #7. I mean, my kids did that too, but not in Illinois. I don't think it's unique to Ill like having 3 former governors who went to jail.

I never visited the capitol as a field trip. Usually they just drove us to the Museum of Science and Industry when they didn't know what to do with us.
